PROFESSOR Statistics

Duties: The successful applicant shall be expected to (i) teach undergraduate and graduate level courses; (ii) supervise dissertations at graduate level and under-graduate research projects; (iii) provide academic leadership to the department; (iv) Participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research and curriculum review; (v) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Candidates should: (i) have a Masters degree in statistics or a related discipline; (ii) have at least 8 years of teaching experience in a university or an equivalent institution ; (iii) have a minimum of 24 pieces of published products (books, journal articles, book chapters etc.), at least 12 of which should be refereed journal articles; (iv) Publications must reflect a spread of national, regional and international publishing outlets; (v) be lead and/or single author in at least 10 articles; (vi) the research profile should provide evidence of research mentorship to junior scholars; (vii) demonstrate effective academic leadership; (viii) show evidence and/or specialization in Biostatistics, Probability and Data Mining; viiii) have evidence of service to a university, the profession and the community.
