Hours: Full time

Summary: The Program Officer will work under the direction of the Program Director on all aspects of the program. His/her duties are analytical, evaluative, interpretative, dynamic as well as administrative.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Administrative:

  • Serve as direct administrative and executive support for the Program Director.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with the key vendors and consultants.

Program Support:

  • Assist the Program Director with all aspects of program activities.
  • Create and monitor program Monitoring & Evaluation plan.
  • Prepare well-written reports, which will include monthly, quarterly and final reports.
  • Help initiate program proposals and seek funding, which will require drafting concept papers, proposals and creating budgets.
  • Coordinate with project officers, and monitor project implementations to ensure that they meet budget and programmatic targets.
  • Supervise program interns and volunteers as appropriate.
  • Help organize meetings, and take on other duties as needed.

Finance:

  • Work with Finance Team to support all aspects of bookkeeping and financial management.
  • Maintain invoicing and vouchering procedures for program partners.
  • Review spending on a quarterly basis to ensure that program spending is on target and that the budget needs no revision.


Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Education: College degree required; Master’s degree in international development or related degree with international focus is highly preferred.
  • Work experience: Minimum four years related experience working in an international organization.
  • If no graduate degree, significant additional relevant experience will be considered.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Significant skill in drafting comprehensive reports, by organizing, analyzing, presenting data, reaching conclusions and developing recommendations.
  • Experience in writing proposals and creating budgets.
  • Extensive communications and English writing skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Persian language desirable.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling and coordinating multiple projects and deadlines.

Conditions:

  • Ability to work overtime with little notice due to the time difference in field project implementation.
