WWF International, Director Policy and Science

Make a difference to today’s world.
Join WWF.

WWF International has enjoyed many achievements in the global policy arena during its 50 year history, and its breadth and depth across the science community is world renowned. The organisation will now bring these two disciplines together under the direction of a newly formed post of Director, Policy & Science.
Operating from its ‘nerve centre’, this ground-breaking role will attract policy leadership with an international reputation for bridging economics, politics, finance, science and business across the developing and developed countries of the world.

This is a genuine opportunity for a leader to have real, global impact. The new Director of Policy & Science will operate equally at the highest level outside as inside the organisation, and will take responsibility for 6-7 senior individuals that manage up to 60 leading experts in remote locations around the world. Experience of working in a multi-cultural setting is essential.

With responsibility for ensuring that the organisation maintains great influence and credibility in key fora throughout the world, the successful candidate must be an accomplished international negotiator, mobilizer and connector at key stakeholder, ministerial and corporate board level. Internally, the individual will direct an extensive framework of some of the most significant initiatives and publications in WWF’s history. This is a role for a natural and passionate leader who wants to create real, positive change and the ability to take everyone around them on the journey.
Applications will be welcomed from policy leaders in NGO, aid agency, supra-governmental or private sector environments. Indeed, the strongest candidates are likely to have had a balanced career in more than one of these areas.

Location:

The position is based at WWF International in Gland (near Geneva), Switzerland.
