Senior Lecturer

Minimum Requirements:
• A PhD/DTech qualification or equivalent in Chemical Engineering and five years of relevant post primary qualification experience.
• ECSA accredited primary qualifications.
• Good communication and lecturing skills.
• A strong passion for teaching and research.

Additional Recommendations:
• Knowledge of Chemical Engineering application software.
• Good research track record or relevant research experience and an ability and desire to advance research development in the Department.
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa.

Summary of Duties:
• Teaching and assessing at all undergraduate levels.
• Supervision of B Tech projects and post-graduate students.
• Development of learning material for different courses.
• Assist with administrative duties as delegated.
• The successful candidate is expected to become actively involved in the various research and industrial projects currently undertaken in the Department.
• Any other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department or Representative.

Salary: R218 928 to R366 504 p a, plus benefits.

Academic Development Practitioner (Lecturer Rank)

Minimum Requirements:
• Masters Degree with a specialisation in Academic Development.
• At least 3 years relevant experience in Higher Education.
• Evidence of Research participation.

Additional Recommendations:
• The candidate shall demonstrate ability and interest to do PhD studies.

Summary of Duties:
• Coordinate Academic Development in the Faculty.
• Develop and present training in student academic support.
• Provide training for student development tutors in the faculty.
• Support teaching, learning and assessment development in the faculty.

Salary: R188 964 to R340 488 p a, plus benefits.
