Core purpose:
To be involved in the education and training of pharmacy students, pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy technicians and will be required to work with other staff members in the BPharm programme to continuously improve the academic programmes in the Department.
Key performance areas:
- Teaching, assessment and development of undergraduate BPharm, Pharmacy Technical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician courses
- Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students
- Conduct research within the Department/University’s focus areas
- General academic administrative duties
- Liaison with the Department’s pharmaceutical industry partners and other stakeholders
Core competencies:
- Experience in module and programme development will be an advantage
- Must have an extensive background in pharmaceutical sciences
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Must be computer literate
- Must be familiar with higher education policies and procedures
- Sound interpersonal relations
- A student-centered and innovative approach towards teaching and learning is expected
Additional information:
- Registered as a pharmacist with The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Masters degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification
