Medical Humanities Adviser Ethics and Society

The Ethics and Society programme supports research that explores the ethical and social aspects of biomedical research and health interventions with the ultimate aim of achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health.

As Medical Humanities Adviser - Ethics and Society you will be responsible for identifying and supporting the leaders and grant applicants in this field. Whilst managing the existing portfolio of grant recipients and applicants you will be responsible for promoting the continued development of the Ethics and Society programme through networking, and designing and delivering workshops, training programmes and conferences, that ensure we receive high quality grant applications in line with the vision.

To be successful in this role you will need to be an integral part of relevant academic communities and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Post Graduate degree and several years research in relevant discipline
  • Able to communicate and network effectively at all levels, internally and externally
  • Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to work equally well on a group and individual basis
  • Excellent listening skills, being tactful and diplomatic at all times
  • Customer focussed and able to lead and motivate whilst working to deadlines
  • A passion for biomedical ethics and/or social science research, coupled with drive and enthusiasm

Salary £ 32,00 -£ 37,000 (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits
