The role

Reporting to the Systems Integration Team Leader, the role of Application Support Programmer will be accountable for ensuring on-going technical support and customisation of the Epicor application platform. As part of your role you will assist the ERP Support team in the resolution of coding and data issues, design and construction of interfaces to other systems and construct reports using Crystal reports & Microsoft SQL SSRS.

Key responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring continuous stable operation of the E4SE web applications
• Assisting the Service Desk in the resolution of complex installation issues with Financial and ancillary client software
• Timely resolution or escalation of helpdesk tickets for complex technical issues
• Assisting the ERP Support Team Leader with management of escalated issues with the vendor, and tracking of resolution
• Development of system enhancements, interfaces and reporting; source code management; documentation and testing

The person

An experienced programmer, you will hold a degree from a recognised tertiary institution. Specific technical certificates in database development would also be an advantage.

Essential to this role will be your:

• Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
• Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/08.
• Solid Microsoft SQL Server skills (SQL coding of queries and stored procedures; profiling; basic database administration skills)
• Experience in the Microsoft BI suite in particular SSRS and SSIS
• Knowledge of one or both of: C# or jscript
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience producing technical support and user documentation
• Experience with support and customisation of a .Net web-based application using a Microsoft SQL Server database.

The successful candidate will have a passion for developing innovative and practical solutions, exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer focus. You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise and meet reporting deadlines in a busy project environment. Imperative to this role will be your attention to detail a capacity to learn quickly, to work well in a team and to be able to think ‘on your feet’.
