The role
 Working within a team of specialists delivering tailings and other  mine infrastructure projects, you will play an influential role in  building and driving the Coffey Tailings group. 
 The team prides itself in the use of practical, innovative  techniques and technologies to solve client mining problems. To this  end, you will work with experienced professionals with a vast knowledge  obtained within Australia and overseas.
 The team aims to develop the practice of geotechnical engineering  as applied to mining projects and specifically tailings management.
 Key responsibilities include:
- Involvement in the engineering process of tailings storage facility projects; from investigation, through design and documentation, construction, operations and closure;
 - Conduct geotechnical investigations for various mine infrastructure projects (plant sites, tailings storages);
 - Project management of tailings storage and other mine infrastructure projects;
 - Working on mining projects mainly within WA covering Nickel, Gold and Iron Ore. Opportunities do exist for project work interstate and overseas;
 - Client liaison and job management.
 
The person
 You will hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Bachelor of  Science (Engineering Geology and preferably be a member of IEAust or  AIG. 
 You should have practical experience in geotechnical  investigations, design of tailings storage facilities, geotechnical  analysis including seepage and stability, hydraulic/hydrology and water  balance. An experienced professional with strong written and verbal  communication skills, you will have strong interpretative, analytical  and project management skills.
