Civil Engineer- Urban Development Cardno

Cardno’s office in Canberra is a leading civil engineering consultancy in the region with 40 staff and a reputation built up over 25 years in the areas of Civil Infrastructure and Transportation; Urban Development; Sporting Facilities; and Building Services. We are part of the Cardno Group, with around 3000 staff world-wide.
With an impressive list of projects in hand we have a position available for a Civil Engineer with 3 to 5 years experience in urban estate planning and design. Your specific design experience may include roads and drainage, stormwater management and WSUD, services including water and waste water etc.
The successful applicants will have the following skills and attributes:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in planning and design for urban, commercial &/or industrial estates
  • Sound understanding of design standards
  • Hands on knowledge of civil design tools and software packages
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD an advantage but not essential
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Your role will include but not be limited to:
  • Engineering investigations and reports
  • Design and documentation including Specifications and Bills of Quantities
  • Work as part of a team of engineers, designers and drafters
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with government agencies
  • Client relationship management
  • Play a crucial role in the continued success of the civil design team
