LAING O'ROURKE UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING

and

UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN THE PERFORMANCE-BASED DESIGN OF STRUCTURES

Applications are now invited from suitably qualified candidates for two University Lectureships to take up appointment as soon as possible.

For both posts, the successful candidate will have, or be expected to develop, a record of world-class research commensurate with the international reputation and top-rank research rating of the Department of Engineering.

LAING O'ROURKE UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING

Candidates' research should be related to the construction industry in the widest possible sense, although there are no prerequisites about the subject area. The quality and vision of the current or planned research portfolio will be a key determinant in assessing each candidate's application. The research may be focused on advanced technical engineering topics or on advanced management practices applied to the construction industry.

UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN

THE PERFORMANCE-BASED DESIGN OF STRUCTURES

The successful candidate will be working with an internationally distinctive research agenda on some aspect of performance-based design, including structural monitoring, inverse analysis, and life-cycle analysis. The successful candidate might collaborate with one of our existing research centres, such as the Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction, the Laing-O'Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering, or the Engineering Design Centre. And their research might contribute to one of the Department's Strategic Themes: Energy, Transport and Urban Infrastructure; Uncertainty, Risk and Resilience; and Inspiring Research through Industrial Collaboration.
