Habtoor Chair of International Relations American University of Sharjah

The American University of Sharjah is pleased to announce the inaugural search for the Khalaf Ahmed Habtoor Chair of International Relations. We seek a senior, distinguished scholar with an internationally recognized record of research accomplishments. The holder of the chair will be a member of the Department of International Studies and will play a role in the establishment, development and direction of the university's Middle Eastern Studies Program and Center.

We encourage applications from candidates who have expertise in the politics of the Middle East/North African/Indian Ocean region. The ideal candidate will have experience with the North American Liberal Arts model of teaching, with an interest in teaching undergraduate students, administrative management experience, and a strong publication record. This position bears a salary commensurate with the honor of the chair as well as additional benefits including furnished housing, relocation expenses and so forth.

AUS is located in the emirate of Sharjah, adjacent to Dubai, UAE. Founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, AUS is an independent, not-for-profit coeducational university in the Gulf, serving some 5,500 students of 82 nationalities. The American University of Sharjah (AUS) is accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
