Partnerships Officer, P-3, Freetown, Sierra Leone

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Temporary Appointee Partnerships Officer to provide technical support to the External Relations and Advocacy Office by supporting and facilitating development partners groups meetings, engaging with donors, government officials and other partners to advocate for child rights, coordinating and facilitating advocacy, fundraising and partnerships activities through a committee, drafting and overseeing the drafting of advocacy and fundraising materials.

Qualification:

• Advanced University degree in journalism, public relations or a related field
• At least 5 years working experience in public relations or external relations in an international and if possible development context.
• Ability to work independently but in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders
• Technically sound in drafting and editing reports.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
• Adaptability and flexibility, client orientation, confidentiality, initiative, concern for accuracy and quality
• Computer literate
• Experience of similar work in other countries, especially in low capacity countries is highly desirable, previous work with UNICEF or another UN agency an asset.
