PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANT: CIVIL
Justice Centre: • Tzaneen

Key outputs: • Provide civil legal aid to the poor in the coverage area of the unit • Handle complex civil matters • Supervise and guide civil candidate attorneys and paralegals • Assist in providing support and assistance to civil sections of Justice Centres in the designated cluster • Represent women, children, vulnerable and landless people in all civil matters • Perform office administration functions.


Competencies (skills, knowledge and attributes) required: • Admitted as an Attorney/Advocate (the latter must have completed pupilage successfully at an institution recognised by Legal Aid SA) • An LLB or BProc degree • At least 7 years’ post-qualification legal experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ post-admission civil experience • Right of appearance in the High Court • A valid driver’s licence would be an advantage.
