Quality of production specialist in the area of social economy enterprise focused on Social Design Centre (Project Office Poland)

Social economy refers to a third sector in economies between the private sector and business or, the public sector and government. The main objective of the project is to develop a strong and vital social economy sector in Poland and suggest possible models for replication in other Eastern European countries. In particular, social economy institutions will be supported to improve their efficiency, develop a system of standardization and creation of social economy entities. Support structures for social economy entities will be elaborated and tested including efforts to increase social enterprises’ brand visibility. Education and training programs in the field of social economy (postgraduate studies, training, counseling, study visits and internships) will be elaborated and introduced.

The activities covered by the following contract address the partnership focused on the Social Design Centre in Cieszyn. The Center is aimed to produce and to promote social design products for everyday use.

Duties and Responsibilities

The objective of this assignment is to organize and coordinate the production process of the Social Design Centre products.
The quality of production specialist is expected to:

  • Prepare production plans and production orders;
  • Cooperate with and supervise contractors and suppliers;
  • Solving organizational and technical problems with the production process;
  • Organize storage system (among others: storage reports);
  • Organize production workflow;
  • Prepare storage and production reports;
  • Coordinate distribution of sold products;
  • Organize and conduct complaints management;
  • Point out what technology changes are necessary;
  • Control the efficiency and quality of the production process;
  • Control production costs and take necessary actions in order to minimize them.

Deliverables:

  • Monthly report about undertaken activities according the contract;
  • Production plans;
  • Storage and production reports;
  • Recommendations concerning changes in the production quality and technology;
  • Recommendations concerning optimizing work-flow;
  • Storage system plan.

Competencies

  • Good knowledge of the carpenters branch (products and technologies);
  • Knowledge of the production process management;
  • Knowledge of the internal audit process;
  • Fluency in the technical documentation procedures;
  • Good management skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong motivation and commitment to the project.

Required Skills and Experience

Academic Qualifications/Education:

  • At least secondary education, preferably a Masters degree in technical science.

Experience:

  • 3 years of work experience in the field;
  • 2 years of experience in the field of production process management;
  • 2 years of experience in the field of quality management.

Language skills:

  • Fluent Polish;
  • Working knowledge of English.

Evaluation of Applicants:

Individual consultants will be evaluated based on a cumulative analysis taking into consideration the combination of the applicants’ qualifications and financial proposal.
The award of the contract should be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:
a) responsive/compliant/acceptable, and
b) Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation.
Only the highest ranked candidates who would be found qualified for the job will be considered for the Financial Evaluation.

Technical Criteria - 70% of total evaluation – max. 35 points:

  • Criteria A (Experience in the carpenters branch) – max points: 15
  • Criteria B (Experience in the field of production process management) – max points: 15
  • Criteria C (Experience in the internal audit and technical documentation process) – max points: 5

Financial Criteria - 30% of total evaluation – max. 15 points

Payments will be made only upon confirmation of UNDP on delivering on the contract obligations in a satisfactory manner.
