Restricted funds officer At Christian Aid

At Christian Aid, we’re driven by the goal of eradicating poverty. It’s something we’re passionate about, and our loyal donors feel the same. That’s why they give so generously to our appeals. But really making a difference means getting those funds to the right place and you will play an important part in helping this to happen.

In this new role within the International Finance Team, you’ll be assisting with the financial management of Christian Aid’s restricted funds. That means identifying where each donation is coming from, which specific appeal it is funding, and making sure it reaches the right destination. With donors giving generously to appeals all over the world, there’s no shortage of responsibility. So, working closely with the Humanitarian, Fundraising and Compliance teams, you’ll monitor contributions from institutional and major donors – analysing numbers, producing reports, and seeing to it that the figures add up.

A part-qualified accountant, either by IFAC or experience alone, you’ll have had plenty of exposure to restricted funds accounting and have a broad knowledge of institutional donors. Proficiency in French or Spanish is certainly an added bonus. And we’re not too concerned about your industry background, whether commercial or NGO. What’s more important is your analytical and numerical mind – interpreting figures, spotting inconsistencies and keeping things running smoothly. Not to mention your first-rate communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to drive progress and get things done.

More than half the world lives in poverty. We aim to put a stop to that. So we campaign against the inequalities that keep people poor and we work with local organisations to give people strength to find their own solutions to the problems they face, irrespective of their religion. If you’re as determined as we are to end poverty and injustice across the world, work with us to make change happen.

We value everyone who works for us, so we offer a wide range of benefits which include a generous holiday allowance and paid public holidays, flexible working and flexi leave, pension and insurance to help you have the perfect work/life balance.
