Water Aid Programme Officer - Technical Support Unit

Fixed term 11 month contract

Salary: Starting from £25,072

Location: Vauxhall, London

The Technical Support Unit (TSU) provides technical support throughout the organisation through: a) the preparation of strategic frameworks and guidance documentation and the development of knowledge management at a strategic level; b) capacity development and c) focused research and development.

The TSU is seeking a Programme Officer (PO), who will be responsible for providing focused support to the Head of TSU, the Programme and Research Managers and the Regional Technical Advisors with respect to the thematic documentation, capacity development and key pieces of research and development work. The PO will also enjoy the opportunity to take on selected programme and project responsibilities and will lead on the production of a quarterly technical newsletter.

Such responsibilities will require sound knowledge and experience of WASH programming, based on qualifications to a Masters level and some international field experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and team player with excellent communications, project management and administrative skills. The candidate should have the ability and willingness to spend up to 25% of their time travelling. The ability to speak either French or Portuguese would be an added advantage.
