Biostatistician I in Research Triangle Park, NC

FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states and all U.S. territories. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Biostatistician I in Research Triangle Park, NC.
Position Description:
  • Provide SAS programming and statistical support to Senior Biostatisticians and researchers primarily involved in non-clinical research (e.g. health behavior interventions, surveys)
  • May help prepare data checking specifications.
  • Working under Senior Biostatisticians prepare table, listing, and figure shells for in accordance with study protocols and analysis plans.
  • Develop specifications for analysis data sets (e.g. defining derived variables) and data tables, listings, figures.
  • Assist other analysis teams by writing statistical analysis programs using SAS or other statistical software to create or verify analysis data sets and data tables, listings, and figures per specifications.
  • With guidance from Senior Biostatisticians carries out basic to intermediate level statistical analysis; assess analysis assumptions.
  • May prepare draft statistical analysis plans (for Senior Biostatisticians review) from protocol summaries.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Review study reports and manuscripts for accuracy.
  • Perform billable work in accordance with policies and standard operating procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of bio statistical methods for observational studies and randomized studies.
  • Strong quantitative, verbal, writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think logically and systematically with careful attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated software and technical skills. Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS).
Education/Experience:
Master’s degree or its international equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics or related field with 0-5 years’ related experience.  Will consider BS+ additional related work experience in lieu of advanced degree.
