Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a global nonprofit Christian housing organization that brings together people of all races, nationalities and religions to build homes, communities and hope. Since 1976, Habitat has served more than 500,000 families by building and improving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. An estimated 17,000 of these families are in Europe and Central Asia, where Habitat has been active since the mid-1990s.

We are currently seeking to recruit an Energy Efficiency Manager, #2363.

The Energy Efficiency Manager reports to the ECA Program Director to help create the area strategy for work in the energy efficiency (EE) sector; manages the EE projects in the region, collaborates closely with the ECA Program Development Managers in the EE countries and Global Program to implement and lead forward further regional EE work. More specifically, the EE Manager:
  • Engages with national organizations and other implementing partners in the EE area;
  • Participates in the development on ECA strategy for EE renovation and models development;
  • Manages large EE grants and support the senior management in donor relationship management;
  • Manages the USAID project implementation to ensure the program is functioning within the project requirements; prepares regular reports on the program's progress and collaborates in the preparation of financial reports for the EE projects;
  • Prepares implementation and monitoring plans for the participating countries and manages them;
  • Prepares policy documents and reports to stakeholders as required;
  • Collaborates with the Resource Development department on the development of new EE proposals.  

Required skills:

  • Master degree in a EE and/or construction related field preferred or equivalent experience;
  • 6-10 years of related experience;
  • Solid understanding of the energy sector reform trends and practices in South East Europe, Caucasus and Ukraine;
  • Knowledge on energy usage impact on poor households and models for improving energy efficiency for low income households;
  • Experience in the EE sector: addressing market, capacity and knowledge gaps, reducing energy costs, reducing carbon emissions in the regions
  • Solid project management including financial management and large donor reporting and relationship management experience;
  • Proven capacity to function in a multicultural team and manage remote team members;
  • Outstanding project administration skills;
  • Experience implementing policies;
  • Good facilitation, communication and writing skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and intercultural sensitivity;
  • Ability to lead and facilitate others;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Fluency in English required. Working knowledge of Russian preferred;
  • Willingness to affirm the Christian principles of HFHI;
  • Willingness to travel.
