European Affairs Coordinator PEROSH


PEROSH is now recruiting for its European Affairs Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for networking, coordination and further developing the network.
Job description
  • General coordination of the network’s activities. Contact point for external stakeholders (European Institutions, European networks, and potential new members) and for the internal network (PEROSH Chairman, Scientific Group Chairman, project leaders and all network members);
  • Follow-up of PEROSH projects (project planning support, ensuring good communication between project managers and researchers at the member institutes, monitoring of EU funding possibilities, coordination of answers to calls for proposals);
  • Drafting the agenda and the minutes of the Scientific Steering Group and Steering Group meetings;
  • Development of PEROSH activities and positioning at EU level (European Commission – DG Research and DG Employment and Social Affairs, European Agency for safety and health at work);
  • Writing, editing and disseminating PEROSH documents (newsletter, leaflet, position papers, support for scientific papers);
  • Organisation of workshops and conferences;
  • Representation of PEROSH in conferences and meetings;
  • Website updates.
The European Affairs Coordinator will report to the PEROSH Chairman, Scientific Director at the French national research institute for the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases (INRS).
Skills and experience required
  • University degree in fields such as social or political sciences, natural sciences, engineering sciences, medicine or equivalent;
  • At least four years of successful experience in research management, in the field of occupational safety and health or in a similar position in a European network;
  • Very good understanding of the EU institutional framework;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new issues, proactivity and self-motivation;
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills, including ability to draft clear and concise policy and scientific documents on complex matters;
  • Good organisational and IT skills;
  • Fluent in English and French.
This is a short-term contract (18 months) to be fulfilled from 1 January 2013. The position will be based at INRS headquarters in Paris with frequent travels to Brussels and throughout Europe.
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
