currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Network Engineer (Systems Analyst III) in Research Triangle Park, NC.
Position Description:
The
Senior Network Engineer (Systems Analyst III) role is a combination of
support and design activities. He/she is responsible for network
hardware and software, problem resolution and capacity planning for tier
two and some tier three level incidents. The scope includes the
network technologies for US and International offices.
- Leads and manages all aspects of assigned project
- Provides advanced level trouble-shooting services to Operations Support for issues escalated beyond first level support.
- Serves as a lead on LAN/WAN, automated device backup and restore operations and mission critical applications and respond proactively to emerging problems
- Perform installations of network equipment, layered products, and third-party products that host corporate applications, databases, and websites
- Conduct system/network monitoring, backup and recovery services, security measures implementation, capacity management and account maintenance
- Collect, analyze and make recommendation on network performance and maintain optimal system performance and security
- Serves as a contact to vendors and service providers for planning and problem resolution.
- Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
- Recommends new equipment or software packages to management.
- Responsible for preventative maintenance, capacity planning, determining resource requirements, broad scope, works independently.
- Planning and management of LAN/WAN installation, backup and recovery for US and International offices
- Support the delivery and achievement of ISS department goals and objectives, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, tools, techniques and services.
- Support organizational wide priorities by ensuring optimal support and timely resolution of incidents
- Ensure integrity and availability of all technology resources through adherence to change control and configuration management processes and procedures
- Identify and promote technical and operational “best practices.”
- Serves as mentor and team lead for other analysts
Experience
is expected in several of the technologies listed below in support of
Cisco Networking Technologies for US and International offices:
- Routers

- Wireless Controllers
Provide support for Cisco Voice technologies for US and International offices:
- Unified Communication Manager 8.X
- Unity Connection
- Voice Gateways
- Call Manager Express
Other technologies:
- Riverbed WAN Optimizers
- Intrusion Prevention Systems
- Load Balancers
Extremely
strong interpersonal skills and interaction capabilities with all staff
levels of the organization to resolve problem situations with tact and
diplomacy
Minimum Requirements:
Cisco
Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Education/Experience: MS/MA in a
related field, with 8 years relevant experience; or BS/BA and 8 - 10
years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
