As a Proposal Development & Knowledge Manager, you will be a valuable resource focusing on the following areas:

1. FSI Lead Client Service Partner (LCSP) Program

  • Develop the account strategy with the LCSP and service line partners of key FSI clients
  • Maintain an understanding of the issues on the key clients agenda at service line level
  • Help to set up and manage the senior executive relationship action plans and map account and client relationships
  • Identify new Deloitte service offerings and propositions which would be of interest to the key clients
  • Work with the functional FSI leaders to ensure that Deloitte is realising opportunities across the region
  • Produce Management Information for the Industry Leader

2. Account Management

  • Monitor the accounts pipeline of wins/losses and opportunities
  • Keep Smartnet accurate and up to date
  • Ensure that the FSI teams are applying the Deloitte Approach to Account Management
  • Provide support on large and significant opportunities of over $100,000
  • Facilitate and chase credentials and client permissions at the close of every project / phase
  • Facilitate the capture of bid collateral and store centrally
  • Monitor performance of the major accounts against objectives
  • Mentor other account managers on FSI accounts

3. Networking and Sharing

  • Ensure that content is being captured and shared
  • Ensure that ideas which have been deployed successfully at one project / account are cascaded to other accounts
  • Liaise closely with FSI Marketing and Deloitte Research to ensure that appropriate marketing and thought leadership collateral is being taken to the client
  • Attend monthly FSI meetings and actively share and participate in the wider global FSI community

About the position
The ASB Partnership for the Tropical Forest Margins has emphasized the need for understanding and developing synergies and trade-offs between mitigation and adaptation at multiple levels. While this is recognized in the literature, little has been done on concrete options for synergies and optimizing trade-offs. Therefore, ASB is developing a Global Research Programme on Linking Mitigation and Adaptation(MITI-ADAPT GLOBAL) which proposes to explore viable conceptual and empirical frameworks for enhancing synergies between mitigation and adaptation at global, national and local levels from a land management perspective. This project aims to provide transformative thinking on linking adaptation and mitigation in the climate change domain with potentially huge global impact and benefits. The work will also contribute to the new CG Consortium Research Projects, especially CRP 6.4 on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and CRP7 on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security.
Responsibilities
The Post Doc Climate Change Scientist will be a member of the ASB’s Global Coordination Office. Under the supervision of the ASB Global Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting research on land management experiences at linking climate change adaptation and mitigation through desk reviews, meta-analysis and case studies. The incumbent will be based at the World Agroforestry Centre headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
The main tasks will include the following:
  • Develop a research workplan
  • Undertake research on land management options for enhancing synergies between climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • Lead and contribute to the development of an annotated bibliography
  • Lead and/or contribute to the development of at least two manuscripts
  • Co-lead in research report writing and a least one relevant policy brief
  • Co-lead the development of research proposals and fundraising on MITI-ADAPT
  • Contribute to CRP 6.3, 6.4 and 1.2 research
The successful applicant will have:
  • A PhD in a field related to climate change mitigation/adaptation, environmental sciences, ecological or environmental economics, geography or other discipline relevant to ASB
  • Solid background in environmental policy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, agroforestry and development
  • Good track record of international publications
  • Excellent writing, editing and public speaking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-cultural contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete tasks with attention to detail and to meet deadlines
  • Field experience in tropical and sub-tropical developing countries
  • High proficiency in English. Additional languages desirable
  • Some experience in proposal development and fundraising desirable.

Function

Head of Access and Advocacy Innovative Vector Control Consortium

IVCC is a Product Development Partnership (PDP) established as a not for profit company and registered charity to overcome the barriers to innovation in the development of new insecticides for public health vector control and to develop information systems and tools which will enable new and existing pesticides to be used more effectively.
This newly created senior role will provide a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to influence global policy and practice with the objective of delivering access to vector control products that make a real difference to people’s lives across the world.
The launch of the Global Plan for Insecticide Resistance Management by the World Health Organisation Global Malaria Programme will create a substantial need for advocacy to support the plan and it is anticipated that the appointee will be seconded to WHOGMP for up to 25% of their time to assist WHO GMP in advancing their vector control policies.
You will be responsible for defining and delivering the external relations strategy and will work with key stakeholders to determine the changes to policy, advocacy and funding requirements in order to deliver access for the products developed by IVCC collaborations. The successful candidate must have experience of developing high level networks to influence policy along with strong leadership and influencing skills.
You will also bring experience of strategic planning and delivery, including management of communications, within a technical or product development environment. It is essential that you have high political and cultural awareness of our international stakeholder community and be able to demonstrate good judgement and the ability to gain agreement in a diverse environment.

The IRCT is a health-based umbrella organisation that supports the rehabilitation of torture victims and the prevention of torture worldwide.

Our members currently comprise 145 independent organisations in 74 countries. Our work is governed by these member organisations. Today, we are the largest membership-based civil society organisation to work in the field of torture rehabilitation and prevention.

Background
The International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) is currently recruiting a highly experienced professional to fill the position of Secretary-General and take leadership of the development of the organisation and its membership globally.

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the General Secretariat of the IRCT supports and collaborates with a global network of rehabilitation centres and programmes represented in every region of the world.

The IRCT consists of four bodies: the General Assembly, the Council, the Executive Committee and the General Secretariat. The General Secretariat serves as the operational body of the IRCT. The IRCT’s strong commitment to the rehabilitation of torture victims brings together highly committed people with different cultural and professional backgrounds worldwide. It is important that the IRCT maintains and further develops this unique organisational identity.

The position
The Secretary-General is the Chief Executive Officer of the IRCT and as such provides overall strategic leadership to the IRCT, within the guidelines set by the Executive Committee and the IRCT Council. The Secretary-General is the main public spokesperson of the IRCT. The Secretary-General cooperates with organisations and individuals globally, in order to support the IRCT capacity development and objectives. The Secretary-General oversees all IRCTs activities and is responsible for the overall management of the IRCT Secretariat. The Secretary-General should be committed to the continuous development of the organisation and the successful development and implementation of IRCT’s strategic plan.
