Requirements: This is a unique leadership role for an experienced humanitarian who can galvanise the UK’s major aid agencies, broadcasters and public when a major overseas disaster strikes.

Through your leadership of a small Secretariat team, and by enhancing and expanding an extraordinary range of partnerships, you will match and improve on our performance in the last two years which saw the DEC raise £250m for Haiti, Pakistan and East Africa. Supporting a board comprised of the Chief Executives of the major UK aid agencies and independent experts you will help shape and agree our strategic objectives. You must ensure the money we raise is spent efficiently and effectively and also transparently and accountably. And the DEC must continue to use its unique position to enhance learning within the membership as well as sharing this across the wider humanitarian sector. You must be able to represent the DEC and its membership at the highest levels across the sector, to governments and through the media.

This is a unique vacancy, and you would need to be able to react quickly to emergencies in order to galvanise the DEC team and its supporters.

Restless Champion – Live Below the Line

We are recruiting volunteer Restless Champions across the UK, to get people taking action about extreme poverty and youth-led development. You will be required to take a leading role in our campaign, creating awareness about extreme poverty and recruiting fundraisers to take on the challenge.

The campaign, ‘Live Below the Line’, challenges the general public to live on £1 a day, for both food and drink, for 5 days. This year, the challenge will take place 7th – 11th May 2012. Live Below the Line allows thousands of people in the Global North to better understand the daily challenges faced by 1.4billion people around the world trapped in the cycle of extreme poverty. This is particularly meaningful for Restless Development as extreme poverty severely impacts the lives of young people in the countries where we work.

The role of Restless Champion will be to assist in coordinating the campaign for Restless Development and you will play a pivotal role in the campaign. We will support you in getting the most out of this experience by providing you with a Live Below the Line for Restless Development Kit, which includes a ‘How to Live Below the Line guidebook’, posters and leaflets. The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Public Health Officer at P2 level. The position will be based in our Country Office in Chad.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

- Track and ensure that health & nutrition activities supported by WFP are carried out in timely manner and coordinated with other relevant organizations of the UN system, donors and partners as appropriate;
- Ensure quality control of monitoring data inserted in systems of health & nutrition activities (M&E, COMPAS distribution module) and corporate reports (BB, SPR, Sitrep, Briefs, donor reports);

- Design and review of adapted training and sensitization information material for various audiences (staff, partners, beneficiaries) and programmes (health centers /schools /literacy programmes);
- Provide technical assistance to the field staff of Ministry of Health/ Regional Health Delegation/health centers, Partners and WFP field staff;
- Represent WFP in coordination meetings within the health or nutrition sectors (meetings with the MoH, UN agencies, donors, NGOs and other stakeholders including humanitarian assistance) as required;

Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
- University degree, preferably at the advanced level, in Nutrition, International Health & Nutrition, Public Health & Nutrition Policy and Management, Family Health & Nutrition, Food Security, Food Technology or other related fields.

Experience:
- At least 3 years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in nutrition, public health management, development projects, emergency assistance, and/or operational aspects of national, bilateral or multilateral food aid or commercial transactions;
- Experience in hygiene promotion, community development or health education;
- Experience in nutrition survey methodologies, nutrition assessment and relevant data analysis;
- Previous experience working in a context similar to Chad, such as elsewhere in the Sahel is highly desirable;
- Food security and multisector programme knowledge and experience are desirable.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and recent developments in the field;
- Knowledge of sound research methods and monitoring and evaluation standards;
- Understanding of donor policies, strategies, and programme priorities;
- Advanced computer skills with at least intermediate proficiency in windows based word processing, spreadsheet and nutrition/public health software (i.e. EPI Info);
- General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing administration is highly desirable;
- In-depth knowledge of relevant field of specialization (nutrition, public health, development or other) is an asset.

Background:
Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA) is mobilizing international volunteers to assist in the organization of the 5th World Social Forum on Migration, which will take place in Manila, Philippines on November 26-30, 2012.
The World Social Forum on Migration is an event that falls in line with the World Social Forums (WSF). WSF is a space for democratic debate of ideas, reflection, formulation of proposals, exchange of experiences and articulation of social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations that are opposed to neoliberal globalization and the restriction of granting citizenship and civil rights, political, economic, social and cultural rights of migrants, displaced persons, refugees and stateless persons.
The 5th World Social Forum on Migration (WSFM) will be held in Manila, Philippines on 26-30 November 2012. This is the first WFSM that will take place in an Asian country as previous WSFMs were held in Europe and the Americas. The overall theme of the 2012 WSFM is “Mobility, Rights and Global Models: Looking for Alternatives” and the following are the sub- thematic areas:
1. Crisis, Critique and Consequences of Global Migration
2. Migrants Rights are Human Rights
3. Re-imagining migration proposing alternatives, exploring models
4. Resistance, Organization, Action


MFA is looking to build a team of highly motivated volunteers who seek to expand their international experience and contribute to the growing migrants’ rights movement. The team will assist MFA staff and the Philippine Working Group with planning, logistics, and the execution of this major international process.
Volunteers must be self-funded and willing to spend a considerable amount of time in Manila (4-6 months) working as key members of the volunteer team. MFA will be able to provide the following:

The Independent Network of Labour Migration and Integration Experts (LINET) was created by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in order to provide DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission with expert analysis and advice on economic migration and labour market integration of third country nationals. The network unites experts from all the EU Member States, Croatia, Norway and Turkey. It aims to support the European Commission in developing evidence-based policies and in mainstreaming labour market integration issues in the EU employment agenda, as well as towards achieving the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy.


General Functions:

Under the general supervision of the Head of the Regional Implementation Unit and the direct supervision of the Project Manager at the Regional Office (RO) in Brussels, and in close cooperation with the Project Steering Committee, the successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of the network's research activities.

In particular he/she will:

In cooperation with the Research Assistant, compile and analyze primary data and the existing research in the field of labour migration and integration to support LINET objectives;
Contribute to drafting the terms of reference and the recruitment of experts;
Undertake review and final editing of expert inputs and desk reviews;
Be responsible for the production of studies and analysis based on the expert inputs according to the research plan;
Develop ad-hoc research briefs for the European Commission on issues of high policy relevance, on the basis of research results;

Provide effective research support to the expert network in terms of research methodology, planning, and analysis of research results;

Desirable qualifications:

Education and Experience:

a) University Degree, preferably post-graduate degree in Political or Social Science, Economics, International Relations or Law or another related field; b) Several years of experience in research on labour markets and/or labour migration, and proven record of own research and publications directly related to the EU (especially in the English language); c) formal training and experience in application of quantitative and qualitative research methods in social sciences is required; d) experience in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including European Union bodies and national administrations in the EU Member States, as well as academia and non-governmental organizations.

In this role you’ll manage a team of Well Completion & Intervention Engineers and Supervisors in their planning and execution of work programmes. You will implement controls and processes to safeguard the technical integrity of well completion and intervention activities, at the same time as driving performance improvement by using appropriate “limit methodology” tools and techniques (eg. Realise-the-Limit: RtL). Included in these activities are risk identification and mitigation, logistics and QA/QC activities assurance, and the monitoring and timely reporting of land/offshore based completion and intervention operations. Your role will include operational emergency response support, as well as ad-hoc technical input and support for well related activities, both in the office and at the work site. You’ll also be expected to contribute to regional well completions and interventions projects and management activities.

Bapetco is the EGPC/Shell JV operating assets on behalf of both shareholders in Egypt's Western Desert.
Responsibilities:

The job combines the two senior roles of Technical Manager Shell Egypt (SENV) and Deputy Petroleum Engineering General Manager in Bapetco.
Given the unique combination of the dual SENV and Bapetco roles, you are in a key position to drive and ensure integration and alignment between the two companies. Success in this position depends on your ability to build effective relationships and achieve results largely via influence.

You will be one of the principal drivers in developing both companies' short-term and long-term strategies, business plans, and asset management plans.

You will be responsible for managing all Shell Egypt Governance Support (GSM) Team related interfaces with EGPC and EGAS in relation to Shell EP ventures and assets in Egypt. The SENV GSM is responsible for the following business aspects:

-Hydrocarbon Maturation - Ensure integration and alignment between SENV and Bapetco in business vision and strategy definition, portfolio management including TLVC (Technical Limit Value Creation) methodologies, business plan preparation, production forecasting, field development planning, and maximizing value of existing fields through well and reservoir management. Ongoing close interaction with Exploration on all interface activities, HC resource funnel, including support in field development planning for exploration prospects, potential farm-ins and bid rounds, and preparing field development plans for new discoveries.
-Partner Liaison: Responsibility for all technical liaison and technical assurance interfaces with partner companies and EGPC in the post-discovery period according to existing Joint Operating Agreements. Together with the SENV Commercial & NBD Manager, integrates commercial and technical aspects of all development and operational deals with the government and other operators in Egypt.

-Governance Support : the SENV GSM provides first-interface governance support to Bapetco. This support includes ensuring alignment as much as possible with EP Global processes and standards in areas such as asset integrity, reserves reporting.

As a member of SENV management team, you will contribute to the shaping of the strategy and direction of Shell EP in Egypt with clear priorities in line with the EP Roadmap and business priorities. This includes adequate resourcing of all technical disciplines in SENV, with focus on recruitment and development of Egyptian staff (both graduates and mature hires).

De basischemicalien dienen als grondstof oor de fabricage van dagelijkse gebruiksgoederen.

Responsibilities:

In deze baan voer je preventieve en correctieve onderhoudswerkzaamheden aan analyse-apparatuur en gasdetectie-apparatuur uit op onze fabrieken en installaties. De apparatuur waaraan je werkt is heel divers. Je spoort zelfstandig of in teamverband storingen op en neemt de nodige acties voor het oplossen van die storingen.

Na een inwerkperiode en trainingstraject word je verantwoordelijk voor het veilig en milieubewust uitvoeren van preventieve en correctieve onderhoudswerkzaamheden aan analyseapparatuur en gasdetectie.

Naast het werken aan preventieve en correctieve onderhoudswerkzaamheden houd je je ook bezig met de begeleiding van kleine projecten en fabrieksstops. Je bent daarnaast administratief verantwoordelijk voor o.a. het bijhouden; afhandelen van storingsmeldingen en rapporten; verbetervoorstellen; bestellen van materialen en tekeningen.

Requirements:

· Je bent in het bezit (of in opleiding) van een MTS/ MBO diploma Elektrotechniek, Energietechniek, Meet- en Regeltechniek, OTEI of vergelijkbare diploma in deze vakgebieden. Indien je in het bezit bent van de cursus Analyser Onderhoudstechnicus (AOTech cursus in Brielle) is dit een pre.

We work with technologies from the innovation and discovery stage through development to deployment in the field. We are also supporting Norske Shell in their field development projects.

The main tasks are to participate in technology and opportunity framing workshops to identify the assets' technology needs; be responsible for selected R&D projects within well engineering, well completion and intervention (including contracts); provide technical advice through front-end screening and feasibility studies performed by the assets; act as the STN representative on JIP management or technical committees; and collaborate with Norwegian industry, through Joint Industry Project (JIP) forum such as the Petromaks/Demo 2000 programs, OLF and OG21 to stimulate project proposals and assist in evaluations.

De basischemicaliën die door de fabrieken van Shell Moerdijk worden geproduceerd spelen een belangrijke rol in ons moderne leven.

Andere bedrijven maken met deze basischemicaliën producten waarmee we ons dagelijks omringen. Wat er uiteindelijk van gemaakt wordt is heel divers: een matras, de tuinstoel, cd-hoesjes, een surfplank en verpakkingsmateriaal.

Op het bedrijventerrein van Shell Moerdijk staat onder meer de ‘kraker’ (de etheenfabriek) van de afdeling ‘Moerdijk Lower Olefins’ (MLO). De fabriek gebruikt nafta, gasolie of LPG als grondstof. In de kraker worden door een chemisch proces grotere moleculen in kleinere moleculen ‘gehakt’. De kraker produceert onder andere etheen, propeen en butadieeen en een aantal bijproducten zoals ruwe benzine, LPG en verschillende koolwaterstofstromen.


Responsibilities:
Als operator bij een van onze fabrieken zorg je ervoor dat het productieproces draaiende wordt gehouden. Je controleert processen en stelt bij waar nodig. Bij storingen werk je nauw samen met de technische dienst. Je werkt volgens een 2-2-2-volcontinurooster dat geleid wordt door de Afdelings Wachtchef/Production Teamlead.

Een ploeg bestaat uit één of meer teams die elk verantwoordelijk is voor één of meerdere processen. Een team wordt gevormd door Operators van verschillende functieniveaus.

Het is belangrijk dat je beschikt over een goed ontwikkeld verantwoordelijksheid gevoel voor persoonlijke veilligheid en procesveiligheid met aandacht voor de positie van het bedrijf in de samenleving.

Na een inwerkperiode en trainingstraject word je verantwoordelijk voor de normaal voorkomende operationele en relevante niet-operationele werkzaamheden op een aantal onderdelen van een fabriek onder uiteenlopende operationele omstandigheden (normaal bedrijf, starten/stoppen).
Je beoordeelt afwijkingen in de werking van proces en apparatuur en draagt zorg voor het monitoren en bewaken van de condities hiervan. Onderkent in een zo vroeg mogelijk stadium mogelijke problemen ten aanzien van veiligheid, milieu, kwaliteit en neemt hierna dienovereenkomstig acties. Interpreteert analyseresultaten en stelt op grond hiervan zonodig fabriekcondities bij.
Tevens zorg je voor een duidelijke verslaggeving tijdens en bij beëindiging van de wacht en voor een goede overdracht van verantwoordelijkheden. Je ziet er op toe dat personeel van uitvoerende diensten conform de op de werkvergunning gestelde condities werken en je neemt zonodig corrigerende maatregelen.
Je hebt contact met collega’s, technologen, technische dienst en contractors. De werkzaamheden worden zelfstandig of in teamverband uitgevoerd.
