Assistant Insurance Manager

BAM Construct UK Ltd is recruiting for an Assistant Insurance Manager to join our team at Head Office in Hemel Hempstead.  You will report to the Insurance Manager and be primarily responsible for managing liability claims to all BAM Construct UK Ltd operating companies, in addition to other ancillary insurance functions. 
You will: 
  • Review all reported accidents and collect relevant information from sites, in preparation for formal claims
  • Support the company’s loss adjusters in their role of defending/settling insurance claims
  • Assist sites with insurance issues
  • Visit sites where necessary in relation to insurance claims
  • Produce monthly reports in a pre-described format
  • Assist with insurance renewal preparation and negotiation
  • Purchase project polices where required
  • Liaise with insurance brokers and insurers
  • Administer the process of performance bonds
  • Processing invoices
  • Carry out administrative tasks, including updating some company secretarial databases
To succeed in this role you will need to:
  • Have a reasonable knowledge of core insurances for construction: contract works, employers liability, public liability and professional indemnity
  • Have reasonable knowledge of the claims process for liability claims
  • Have a basic understanding of insurance clauses in building contracts
  • Progress towards insurance qualifications is preferred, but not essential
  • Competent user of Microsoft office package
