Purpose:
Qualification:
• Experience in research (quantitative and qualitative), analytical writing.
• Experience in communication, more specifically social and civic media.
• Experience in advocacy and rights based approaches.
• A strong understanding of UNICEF programmes and policy, including knowledge of youth participation and partnership goals, as well as sound interpretation and judgment to present these programmes and policies in a way that enhances UNICEF’s image.
• Knowledge of current trends in youth participation and new media, as well as a good understanding of development issues, world affairs and current events.
• Relevant grass-root experience and field work in selected regions.
• Experience in supporting and coordinating communication activities across a large organization and with other international partner organizations.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple and competing personnel and budget resource demands.
• Progressively responsible professional experience in an international setting.
• Strong writing and communication skills and the aptitude to tailor complex and technical messages for multiple audiences.
• Strong awareness of cultural sensitivities.
• Master’s degree in law, public policy or communication, preferred.
• High command of English. Other languages such as Spanish and French are a plus.
