LEIII UK-based Support Officer
A full time, fixed term vacancy has arisen in the UK-based Support Team of Corporate Services Benelux. Corporate Services Benelux provides support to the FCO’s missions in Brussels. This is an interesting and varied role at the heart of a friendly and dynamic team.
Main Role
The successful candidate will provide administrative and some policy support to the UK-Based Support Team. The main responsibilities include:
Working with new officers and our FM contractor to ensure our housing policy is understood and delivered in an effective way, whilst meeting the needs of staff and families;
Policy on staff accommodation, furnishings and occupant responsibilities, ensuring any changes are agreed with the three Missions management and other Governance structures as necessary;
Managing the furnishing and maintenance budgets of the three Missions;
Providing support and secretariat functions to the Post Housing Committee;
Processing delivery and pick up of Heavy Baggage and Unaccompanied Airfreight for new officers;
Arranging vehicle registrations and CD plates, providing guidance on the formalities, preparing documentation, visits to VAT and Customs Offices. Preparing Notes Verbales for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in French;
Maintaining information spreadsheets and preparing annual returns for London;
Preparation of monthly team newsletter;
General administrative support to the UK-based Support Team and providing leave cover for colleagues.

Skills Required
Essential:
Excellent administrative and organisational skills with relevant experience;
Ability to evidence strong customer service skills;
An ability to manage and prioritise own workload and deliver results;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel;
Fluent written and spoken English;
Operational level of written and spoken French.
Desirable:
Basic knowledge of Dutch would be an asset;
A working knowledge of Oracle based computer systems (e.g. Prism);
Knowledge of the Brussels region and the various communes.
For new employees, this position will be filled on a four year fixed term contract. Existing members of locally engaged staff must discuss the implications for their current contract with their HR Officer.

Gross taxable monthly salary: €2286.10.
