Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Decision Sciences

Manchester Business School (MBS) is the largest campus-based business and management school in the UK with the first place ranking amongst UK business schools in terms of research power (RAE, 2008). To help us build on this position, and to deliver excellent teaching at all levels, we are currently looking for two new academic members of staff to join our Decision and Cognitive Sciences (DCS) Group of MBS.
One Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Decision Science with expertise in areas such as financial risk modelling and decision making under uncertainty, portfolio analysis and optimisation, business risk analysis and management, decision theory and game theory for business, and multiple criteria decision analysis and applications.
One Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Behavioural Science and Decision Making with expertise in areas such as behavioural and judgmental decision making in business, human behaviour in risk analysis and management, decision process and group decision making, human cognition and information technology management.
The two posts are full-time, permanent positions, and are open to those seeking teaching and research tracks. The Lecturer position is equivalent to Assistant Professor and Senior Lecturer is equivalent to Associate Professor.
You need to be highly active researchers, who will be expected to make significant research contributions to the Decision and Cognitive Science Research Centre (www.mbs.ac.uk/dcs) and Manchester Business School. This necessarily includes the ability to produce papers in leading international, peer-reviewed journals for inclusion in any future forms of national-level research assessment. The ability or potential to bring in research income will also be taken into account, along with any evidence of impactful knowledge transfer activities involving the dissemination of research findings to stakeholders beyond the academic community.
You will be joining our DCS academics to provide largely quantitative and analytical courses at Manchester Business School. We are interested in those who have a proven track record of developing teaching and learning expertise in the areas of decision science, and behavioural and cognitive science for business and management. Any member of academic staff joining us will be encouraged to make teaching contributions at a variety of levels, including undergraduate, MSc and MBA. There may also be scope for teaching and additional earning at the executive level and on our Global MBA programme.
You should have a PhD to apply for the above posts, although there may be very exceptional instances where we consider this less relevant.
