EMEA Communications Associate

The position will be responsible to support Elanco Animal Health EMEA corporate communications – internally and externally. The position will include a wide variety of communications activities, ranging from assisting with strategic planning and new program development to execution of regional communications activities. The position will also have responsibility for Elanco corporate positioning in EMEA with key external audiences.

The job will also include responsibility for internal communications efforts and employee engagement activities in EMEA affiliates. There is significant opportunity for innovative thinking to improve delivery and uptake of employee information.
You report to the European Communications Manager.

Key objectives:

  • Create and/or customize core communications packages to support global programming at regional level (corporate reputation, corporate responsibility, innovation, etc.);
  • Develop and execute local plans that align with global priorities and local needs;
  • Corporate communications focus includes enhancing corporate reputation by developing and delivering the Elanco story through multiple communications channels, particularly media, as well as support of corporate responsibility pillars and executive communications support;
  • Support media relations effort to increase Elanco’s share of voice, both in trade and some opinion-leader business media;
  • Assist with issues and crisis management by maintaining current talking points and materials on key issues;
  • Lead employee communications and engagement activities for EMEA affiliates;
  • A position report to EMEA Communications lead, based in Paris, France, and supports some area and country directors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or higher degree;
  • A minimum of six years’ experience in communications (animal agriculture, food or pet industry preferred);
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French. Good knowledge of German;
  • Demonstrated superb communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to synthesize complex issues/opportunities into simple communication materials;
  • Strong understanding of digital communications and proven ability for driving employee communications;
  • Self-starter, attention to detail, ability to multi-task;
  • Work experience in Eastern Europe and/or Arabic countries would be an asset;
  • Additional personal or business experience involving agriculture (farming, agribusiness, industry association, etc.);
  • A positive and contagious attitude for effective communications;
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with people of varied backgrounds, educational levels, and organizational levels;
  • Travel time: approximately 30% up to 50%.

Location:

The preferred location for this position is the Elanco Regional Office in Antwerp. Other EMEA countries may be considered.
