Due to the exciting event department’s growth, we are now recruiting a Conference Manager to join the dynamic event team at GOPA-Cartermill. This role requires someone who is able to think creatively, work proactively and to cover all areas of events from concept to completion.

This broad and varied role will include:

• Managing client expectations from concept to completion;
• End to end project management of events;
• Overseeing financial budgets with management;
• Assisting with client development & maximisation;
• Assisting in new pitches and proposals;
• Attending client meetings to take initial briefs;
• Supplier management;
• Creating project plans and critical timelines for events;
• Overseeing production and technical supplier management;
• On-site management of events.

Qualifications/skills:

• 3-5 years’ experience in conference organisation;
• Fluent in English and French (mother tongue level). Any other language is an asset;
• Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail;
• Good knowledge of Word for Windows, Excel, Outlook as well as registration software;
• Ability to independently manage projects on very tight deadlines;
• Strong communication skills at all levels with the desire to succeed as part of a flexible, yet dedicated fast-moving events team;
• Proactive and creative;
• Flexible, ready for possible extended hours on show site;
• Willing to travel;
• Ability to start on short notice.
