Within the iC group of companies hydrophil iC is responsible for the entire group’s worldwide water sector services. hydrophil iC assist governments and the private industry in improving the delivery of services and achievement of business objectives, respectively, through the provision of high quality consultancy, engineering and management expertise. 

We work with and advise clients in the water sector related to hydropower, environment, water resources, water supply and sanitation. The recent growth of key markets has created new business opportunities on a global scale. Due to the continued expansion and growth of our services, hydrophil iC is looking to recruit a business development manager for our Vienna Head Office to play an important role in our team.

MISSION

Based in Vienna, but with some travel and field missions in targeted countries, successful candidates will join hydrophil iC within its Business Development Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement and drive a structured bid management process to deliver competitive tenders and cover all parts of business development: identification of opportunities, business intelligence and networking, identification of consortium partners, preparation of expressions of interest, tender proposal preparation including planning, logical framework, time plans, search for and contracting of key experts, drafting of rationale and strategy, financial proposal and layout.
  • Production of prequalification documents (expressions of interest) and tender proposals;
  • Contacting and recruiting high level experts during the bid preparation process, incl. preparation of CV, personnel matrices, and all other personnel-related documentation incl. educational credentials checks for proposed staff;
  • Collection of administrative documents from organization;
  • Liaison with experts and organizations as required;
  • Represent the company on research missions worldwide;
  • Understand and manage client expectations and requirements.

  • Other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • University degree, minimum of 3 years’ experience in consulting business development, esp. the production of prequalification documents and tender proposals including recruitment of high level experts related to donor funded projects;
  • Vast knowledge of the procurement procedures of at least three donors out of EBRD, EIB, European Commission, World Bank and KfW;
  • A track record of successful proposals (list to be submitted with the application);
  • An understanding of each area of business development;
  • Ability and flexibility to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced deadline driven environment;
  • Experience with consulting and/or engineering projects (proposals) in the fields of infrastructure development and/or environmental services, exposure to the water sector a significant advantage;
  • A confident, credible personality able to demonstrate strong planning, project management and leadership skills;
  • Sound problem solving, commercial judgment and financial management expertise;
  • Work ethics, dynamism and ability to cope with multiple tasks;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • IT-skills: advanced use of MS Office, Internet;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Languages: Fluent in English. High proficiency of German, French or other languages is an advantage.
