Vehicles intern - Spring 2016

Transport & Environment (T&E), the leading Brussels-based NGO promoting cleaner transport in Europe, is offering an internship for a period of 6 months, starting in the beginning of May. 
The successful candidate will be working with T&E's vehicles team, focusing on supporting T&E campaigns for less polluting vehicles.  On top of that, s/he will undertake a separate project in one of the areas of the vehicles team work related to fuel efficiency standards, e-mobility, air pollution or car testing.
Responsibilities will include:
  1. Research studies on issues related to the emerging environmental issues of vehicles
  2. Data analysis on aspects of emissions from vehicles
  3. Tracking the launch and performance of new vehicle models
  4. Preparing presentation materials
  5. Organising events in the European Parliament
  6. Maintaining and developing contact databases
Ideally the successful candidate will have a good knowledge of vehicle emissions; demonstrable interest in environmental politics and an aptitude for influencing policy. Good interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates with a scientific or engineering background are strongly encouraged to apply.
The application should include a half-page description of a preferred topic that the candidate would like to undertake for the project in the areas mentioned above.
The position is a full-time one, with a fixed six-month contract. This internship is remunerated with EUR 755 a month.
