Division and Project Overview
The International Development Group is one of three international program divisions at URC/CHS and manages health field programs funded by USAID and CDC in Africa and the Latin America region with key focus areas improving health systems performance, including management support systems, and quality of care in maternal and child health, family planning, HIV/AIDS, TB and nutrition.
The Reading Within Reach project (REACH), funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), function as a community of practice which will build and share approaches to using evidence-based interventions for early grade reading program design and implementation. This alliance will expand dialogue and practical solutions while delving into new depths of reading instruction challenges.
While building on education best practices, the project will also shape considerable results by bringing together various levels of the education community into the alliance, using evidence-based quality improvement practices, and creating standardized approaches that can be adapted at across education communities. The alliance will serve to increase access of all educational interchanges, reading program information exchange, research, innovations, toolkits, and trainings. The research and information will be channeled through a website and database (built into the website) which will be accessible to all domestic and international community of practice members.
