The role
Sandvik Mining has an exciting opportunity for an experienced business professional to lead and develop the Fire Suppression business at a global level. This is a general management position and the role will have a dedicated, strategic business focus to develop customer relationships and grow market share. The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for administrative, technical, financial and sales management of the business unit as an entrepreneurial venture
Key performance areas
  • Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies
  • Profit & Loss, marketing, supply/sourcing, design
  • Lead and develop a small operational team
  • Develop a clear and competitive offering strategy for the business unit
  • Create roadmaps for next generation offerings
  • Set Budgets and targets with Sales Areas and target EBIT improvement
  • Plan and implement product marketing initiatives
  • Maintain an accurate and ongoing sales pipeline
  • Develop and leverage the Sandvik brand and professional profile
  • Proactively drive safety in a leadership role
Your profile
You have a university degree in business or a related field and a minimum of 7 years general management experience. You are an experienced “all rounder”, have a thorough understanding of small business operations and an ability to make efficient decisions and set priorities. You are a strong communicator with sound leadership skills who can effectively engage and motivate your team to reach business goals.
You have a high regard for safety and have a track record of leading by example to promote a safe and healthy workplace.
International travel will be required for this role.
