Local Programme Coordinator (Gaziantep, Turkey)

Free Press Unlimited is currently seeking to hire a Local Programme Coordinator
Objective of the position:
The Local Programme Coordinator is responsible to coordinate the implementation of the local capacity building programme, starting from 1 September 2016. The Local Programme Coordinator will report to the HQ office in Amsterdam and will work closely with the local team in Gaziantep and the team in Amsterdam according to the designed planning of activities and clear division of tasks.
The contract (38 hr/week) will be for a period of 1 year with a possibility for extension.

Key responsibilities:
* Responsible for timely and smooth implementation of the project activities;
* Responsible to facilitate the work of the local team and to manage the local office
* Helps the local team with the training activities (journalism, media, editorial management, etc) in line with the Programme timeline;
* Co-responsible to monitor, anticipate and find solution to possible security threats (in consultation with security officer and operations officer), legal or administration issues;
* Co-responsible to build and keep good internal communication and team spirit;
* Responsible for (local) external communication related to the implementation programme;
* Contributes and facilitates proper liaison and communication flow between the partners, programme staff, and beneficiaries;
* Helps to ensure that the local team reaches its targets and deadlines efficiently and timely;
* Assists Free Press Unlimited HQ staff in various human resources tasks and finding and contracting trainers, researchers and editors for the project;
* General troubleshooting;
* Manages the local office in Gaziantep;
* Manages and contributes to a proper local budget and documents administration to be used for the financial reports according to Free Press Unlimited standards and in line with Turkish law;
We're looking for a professional, enthusiastic and driven individual with:
* Minimum a university degree in Business and Management, Social sciences, media, or similarl;
* Five years of experience in (NGO) Project Management or a similar job with coordination and management responsibilities, preferably in Turkey;
* Good understanding of financial management (experience in managing budgets with donors);
* Good understanding of logistic processes;
* Strong communication and relation building skills;
* Problem-solving skills;
* Professional representation and service oriented competence;
* Flexible, creative, reliable and independent worker and a collaborative team player with the ability to work under pressure;
* Excellent command of Arabic and English language and strong Turkish language skills;
* Residing in - or willing to reside in - Gaziantep;
* Ability and willingness to travel in Turkey and the region (if needed) and to work in the weekends occasionally.
And
* Aware of political and social developments in Syria & the Middle East;
* Takes initiatives in implementing activities;
* Result oriented, entrepreneurial and demonstrated ability to set priorities;
* Is trustworthy and loyal to the vision and goals of the programme;
* Is a team player.
