NORCAP is a world leading standby roster which consists of 700 highly qualified women and men ready to deploy to international operations at short notice. Through the NORCAP mechanism, we aim to provide those at risk with access to protection and to ensure that their rights are respected throughout all stages of a crisis or disaster.     Skills:
    During emergencies, children in school should be protected from natural hazards, abduction, recruitment into militias and sexual and economic exploitation. NORCAP is seeking experts in coordinators with experience in education in emergencies, disasters and coordination.
    For these roles candidates should have humanitarian work experience with the UN and/or NGOs, including hands-on knowledge of the cluster approach. Psychosocial experience is desired together with strong communication and coordination skills. The best candidates will also have a good understanding of the Humanitarian Reform and recent developments including the Transformative Agenda.
    Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 years of professional humanitarian experience in Education (equivalent to the UN P3 level or higher).
  • University degree within a relevant field of study.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English. Arabic, French and Greek is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in highly stressful situations.
  • Strong coordination skills preferably within the UN system.
