Quality Advisor

ZOA is a Christian international NGO which offers RELIEF to people who are affected by conflict or natural disasters. ZOA wants to contribute to a new perspective of HOPE in which people work together for a promising future in dignity and mutual trust. Together with the affected communities we work on the RECOVERY until they can provide to take care of their livelihoods. The work of ZOA is coordinated from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. From Apeldoorn operates ZOA in fifteen countries in Africa, Middle East Region and Asia. ZOA works approximately with 1000 employees worldwide.
ZOA is looking for a
Quality Advisor (f/m, 0,8-1 fte)
Quality is an essential aspect of our work. Therefore ZOA wants to realize - before the end of 2017 - a major revision of its Quality Management System (QMS). We want to incorporate our own internal quality standards, as well as internationally recognized external quality standards to ensure that ZOA worldwide has an efficient and effective quality management framework that we can all realistically comply with and that further improves our work for the people we serve. We are looking for an experienced quality advisor to take up this challenge.
You ensure that the tasks under your responsibility are brought to a good end result, within the set time frame and budget. Based on up-to-date and relevant knowledge, you identify areas for improvement, actively support departments and country teams and develop adequate (country) QMS. You communicate on a strategic and tactical level and can work independently, taking responsibility for your work. You will work closely with all ZOA country programmes and departments at ZOA NL and will need to travel.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in ZOA's QMS and ensure improvements in support to and collaboration with departments and country teams;
  • Ensure that ZOA's QMS is compliant with external standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and Core Humanitarian Standard;
  • Establish and implement a coherent approach towards the development, set-up and drafting of (administrative) policies, procedures, guidelines, manuals etc. within ZOA;
  • Provide (on-site) active support to ZOA country teams in developing their country QMS, in compliance with the general ZOA QMS, including training on ZOA's QMS
  • Make sure managers and other staff understand ZOA's QMS and how to apply that in order to improve the quality of their work;
  • Coordinate the process of external ISO 9001:2015 (re-)certification;
  • Fulfill any other duties in line with the purpose of this position.
Your profile
Knowledge
  • Degree in business administration, accounting, economics, financial management, or other relevant field.
  • At least four years of relevant work experience in quality management, business improvement, or a similar position, preferably within an international development agency or (I)NGO.
  • Good knowledge of business processes.
  • A background in inspections and / or audits on internationally recognized quality standards such as ISO 9001:20015 is a strong asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Dutch and French would be an asset.

Special conditions
  • This position requires occasional travelling (up to 8 weeks a year).
