Digital Security Advisor/Trainer (Gaziantep, Turkey)

Free Press Unlimited is currently seeking to hire a full time Digital Security Advisor/Trainer

Objective of the position:

The Security Advisor/Trainer will advise Free Press Unlimited Syria team (local and HQ) on all digital and physical security matters and ensuring that the data and security needs of our media partners and staff are met. Position is to start from 1 September 2016. The Security Advisor/Trainer will report to the HQ office in Amsterdam and will work closely with the team in Amsterdam according to the designed planning of activities and clear division of tasks. 
The contract (38 hr/week) will be for a period of 1 year with a possibility for extension.
Key responsibilities:

* Advises on all digital and physical security matters;
* Mitigates as much as possible any digital and physical threats;
* Trains media partners and staff in the field of (digital) security;
* Advises and co-ordinates with relevant actors and teams on (digital) security;
* Provides support and solutions to media partners (beneficiaries of the programme) on specific digital security needs;
* Translates the security advise of FPU's security officer to operational advise to local team and the media partners who are based in MENA-region; 
* Monitors the programme's (digital) security policy compliance and reports any violations;
* Alerts all partners to new (digital) security threats;
* Liaise between IT service providers and program partners
* Liaise with local security networks for NGOs and humanitarian aid organisations;
* Find ready and stable solutions to possible (digital) security problems;
* Troubleshoot soft- and hardware issues, perform minor repairs on equipment.
We're looking for a professional, enthusiastic and driven individual with:

* University degree in ICT or related field
* At least 3 years work experience in (digital) security matters
* Established record in (digital) security consultancy with NGOs or SMEs;
* Certified in a data security field from a reputable institution;
* Excellent communications skills;
* Thorough knowledge of safe (digital) security tools (like encryption etc)
* Ability to speak and write both Arabic and English fluently (essential);
* Excellent work ethics;
* Reliable team player.
* Residing in - or willing to reside in - Gaziantep;
* Ability and willingness to travel in Turkey and the region (if needed) and to work in the weekends occasionally.
