IT related Degree
Degree or Diploma in taxation
Business analysis diploma
Project Management Qualification
Matric
8-12 years overall working experience
5-8 years experience in management role
8-10 years business analysis in different environments
8-10 years experience in a Corporate environment
5-8 years project management experience

DUTIES

The role requires extensive knowledge and experience across business products such as (VAT, SDL, UIF, PAYE, CIT/PIT “ITS”, CUSTOMS, SERVICES, 3Rd PARTY DATA, U3TM, ENFORCEMENT “TCC/OD-SARS/CMT & Audit e-cases, Other Taxes etc), integration touch points, limitations and behaviours, business needs and organizational challenges in order to consolidate a platform for the management and monitoring of all taxpayer activities
The role also requires leadership skills in order to define, implement processes and methodologies within the team and the division to ensure effective problem analysis, end to end solutions design, usability and business and process driven solution testing and implementation of business solutions
To provide tactical direction which must result in improvement in service delivery, ease compliance burden and minimise organisational risk

The key activities of this role are

Accountable for the approval of items prioritized for implementation
Ensure sufficient documentation (problem statements, change requests & specs) exists for critical and high impact issues that have been prioritized for fixing
Ensuring the full engagement of each team member
Assess and verify impact assessments done on logged issues to determine validity according to criticality and priority
Ensure that the release planning calendar for prioritized issues (short term and long term) is documented, published and easily retrievable
Intervene and resolve tensions and conflicts between technical team and business analysts
Accountable for ensuring the compilation & execution (integration, systems and acceptance testing) of master test plans through the test life cycle
Accountable for driving the release implementation and all applicable tasks
Accountable for ensuring the compilation and distribution of release notes
Accountable for the development of the intellectual capital of the team and management of HR requirements
Business Analysis: analyse business requests derived from prioritized remedy calls, escalated queries and projects (modernization and non modernization initiatives)
Elicit business requirements through user and customer interviews, functional spec and business requirements spec analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business processes, use cases, scenarios, legislative requirements and workflow analysis
Compile and analyze requirements using best practices and methodologies
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze functional requirements and deliver the following artefacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document, Change Requests Document), Prototyping, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
Participate in JAD sessions, analyze requirements, assess potential risks and communicate outputs to the team
Review business process definitions prior to publication
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the application software development (ASD) team through which requirements flow
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish problem resolutions and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

Business Documentation

Contribute and review training and user manuals
Design and document new process flows, workflows, application interface touch points and dependencies
Document diagnosis, causes, analysis and resolution of day to day production problems and issues
Document scheduled fixes and releases, manage scope from analyzed change requests and prioritized fixes
Ensure that Ops Matters are compiled and communicated with every release
Contribute to knowledge sharing by documenting common problems, resolutions and updating the portal or central repository
Collecting, understanding and translating requirements into specifications

Form Design:

Implement and design requirements for new and revised forms
Assess the impact of new design on software
Design layout, mapping and deployment by applying design standards and conventions
Conceptualize the solution, conceive ideas, create and produce complete form containers
Perform usability testing on completed forms to ensure effectiveness
Eliminate complexities and ensure ease of use and effectivene

Testing

Document scenarios and data that will be required in the testing cycles
Document, understand and transmit requirements into and detailed test plans and test cases
Analyze and participate in data take-on and data conversion activities in various levels of testing to ensure accuracy
Design and execution of test scenarios and test scripts end to end
To assist in the preparation of user, system test plans and test scenarios

Data Analysis

Request and analyze data extracts from sample production problems and cases to determine root cause and problem foot print in order to apply global solutions
Scan and analyze daily management and operational reports to highlight potential risks and concerns
Perform data analysis and data, function and process reconciliation between various integrated points

Solutions Lifecycle Management

Day to day management of prioritized change requests to ensure that agreed deadlines are met
Maintenance of the weekly reports showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies
To provide continuous end user support, solutions development life cycle support and testing life cycle support

Project Management

Manage the weekly prioritization of production issues and fixes
Manage the end to end planning and successful deployment of solutions and facilitate software release implementation
Manage documentation of all releases and solutions deployed
Manage coordination (planning and execution) of pre and post implementation user support testing

Customer Relations Management

Manage customer expectations
Follow up with end users to ensure all resolved calls are closed and on long outstanding calls
Assist end users with the application and the use of policies and procedures
Ensure customer service level agreements are met in conjunction with the end users
Manage the investigation and resolution of SSMO queries
Build customer databases and relationships between Business Systems and end users (external and internal)
Establish contacts within the user community for frequent engagement / assessment post implementations

Change Management

Participate in project change plan
Participate in the development and implementation of systems training
Participate in the Implementation of the change management plan
Participate in the development of change communication plan
Conduct post/pre solutions implementation analysis and intervention

Compliance Management:

Identifying, highlighting and tracking of non-compliance to system usage and policies and procedures
Ensure SDLC compliance on releases and projects
Identify gaps in governance and propose mitigating solution

Process Improvements

Participate in new business process definition and improvements
Diagnose and resolve issues, gaps with existing business processes
Continuously seeking opportunities to improve current processes that will enhance efficiency and drive costs down
Highlighting with any newly introduced processes

Risk Management

Manage all possible risks associated with change request and modernisation programmes
