Programme
SFCG runs a multi-pronged project in the DRC, with primary offices in Kinshasa and Bukavu and satellite offices in Goma, Uvira, Baraka and Moba. SFCG uses a range of tools to implement conflict transformation and peacebuilding projects, including radio, television, participatory theatre, mobile cinema, comic books, joint action projects, training, public forums, and arts and culture events, among others.

Summary of Position
SFCG in the DRC is seeking a Project Coordinator to manage SFCG’s component of a peacebuilding and community reconstruction project in Eastern DRC. The Project Coordinate will oversee implementation of the activities designated to SFCG, in close coordination with the other local and international partners executing this project. SFCG’s role will be aimed at ensuring conflict sensitivity (Do No Harm) in the approaches of the implementing partners, reinforcing their communication strategies, and coordinating SFCG-led peacebuilding initiatives. The position will require good communication and management skills, working with local and international partners. It will entail significant travel across eastern DRC, notably North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri and Maniema. The position will report to the Country Director.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing the implementation of SFCG’s component of the partnership project, including activity planning, implementation, and reporting based on the agreed workplan;
• Oversee project activities, ensuring the quality of planning and implementation, with both staff and project participants, particularly radio stations;
• Financial management, including timely submission of financial reports to donor with support from supervisor
• Ensure that Do No Harm principles and communication strategies are being applied by project partners, by following up with them as per their workplan
• Coordinates the SFCG activities, liaising with their supervisors regarding timing and terms of reference for the tasks
• Maintain strong relationships with all of the project partners, including the project lead as well as provincial implementing partners;
• Disseminate project feedback received to partners, feeding into the Do No Harm cycle for strategy adjustment;
• Track project outputs and outcomes, ensuring that deliverables are met; and
• Lead project reporting, producing narrative reports and evidence of results as required by the project contract.
• Oversee budget of the project, supervising administrative, logistics and finance personnel where appropriate;

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in conflict resolution, journalism, international development or related field
• Minimum of five years of work experience in a related field, with project management experience
• Work experience applying Do No Harm principles, either in an NGO context or as a trainer
• Experience in Africa, especially countries in conflict; experience in the Great Lakes an advantage
• Well-organised and strong capacity to multi-task
• Flexibility and openness in working with a team that is based in different locations, with frequent travel between project sites
• Written and oral fluency in French and English, Swahili an advantage
