Rural Development/Agriculturalist
Vakakis International is a leading international consultancy firm specialising in the provision of technical assistance and consultancy in the field of Rural Development and Agriculture.
We are currently seeking the a Rural Development/Agriculturalist for a Rural Development programme in Namibia. The Input for the Rural Development/Agriculturalist is 18mths. The required profile is as follows:
Key Expert 2 Rural Development/Agriculturalist (Eighteen months)
The Rural Development/Agriculturalist’s experience will include a primary focus on agriculture and rural development sector content and opportunities. S/he will possess:
a) At least a Master’s Degree or post-graduate Degree in a relevant field, e.g. rural development, agriculture, economics, development studies.
b) A minimum of ten years relevant work experience (rural development or agricultural projects or programmes) in developing countries, at least five of which has been in Africa.
c) Proven experience in the development of rural development strategies focussing on rural economic activities.
d) Proven experience in mobilising and supporting non-state actors and parastatals in the analysis of sector SWOTs and resulting strategic planning.
e) Proven experience in advising governments on rural development/agricultural issues.
f) Previous experience as an expert on an EU/EDF funded project.
