Accounting – Subgrants Project Assistant (217156-851)

The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) has an immediate opening for a temporary Accounting Project Assistant in its Subgrants Department. We request a commitment of 30-40 hours per week. The assignment is expected to begin in April and continue to September 30, 2011. The position will report to the Deputy Subgrants Manager of Monitoring and provide support to the Subgrants Accountants and Administrators.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

- Perform the initial review of subgrantee financial reports by verifying receipts, checking for validity, allowability, and cut-off;
- Update subgrantees’ financial reports into Excel spreadsheets;
- Perform administrative duties such as filing documents, scanning, and sending facsimiles;
- Enter new records and/or edit subgrantee data in MS Access database; and
- Other tasks may be assigned based on the needs of the department.

Requirements:

- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance from a four-year university.
- Two years of relevant work experience or completed master’s degree in related fields as listed above, preferred.
