The EIB, the European Union’s bank is seeking to recruit for the Management Committee (CD) - Office of the Vice-President Mr Anton Rop at its headquarters in Luxembourg an:

Adviser to Vice-President

New Member States

The selected candidate will be assigned to the post for a fixed term of 2,5 years

The adviser will report directly to the Vice-President. S/he will be in regular contact with the Bank’s directorates and will also be expected to develop and maintain numerous external contacts.

Accountabilities

  • Briefing for the Management Committee and Board of Directors’ meetings– analysis of the documentation relating to all points of the agenda, do research on issues/files requiring more profound analysis – in consultation where necessary with the Directorates – thus providing the Vice-President with a consistent summary of questions that will be discussed during the meetings of the Bank’s governing bodies
  • Prepare and organise various activities inside and outside the Bank
  • Write speeches, presentations and special notes and reply to correspondence, including from the constituency
  • Conduct research and specific studies
  • Assure consultation on important subjects of the Bank and liaison with other directorates within the Bank

Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance/Economics or a business related discipline
  • At least 5 years relevant professional experience
  • Experience in negotiations with governments, public and promotional institutions or banks
  • Experience of EIB operations in the countries of the VP´s constituency (Bulgaria-Czech Republic-Cyprus-Hungaria-Malta-Poland-Slovenia-Slovakia) would be an asset
  • Good knowledge of the procedures and functioning mechanisms of the European institutions
  • Good command of office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, knowledge of French and another language (e.g. German)
