ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

The SADC Regional Water Supply and Sanitation Project invites suitably qualified and experienced citizens of Botswana to apply for the position of Assistant Accountant.

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Overall Purpose of the job: To support the Projects Accountant in the accounting and financial reporting of the Water Supply and Sanitation Project implementation.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing sound accounting systems and maintaining up to date project accounts
  • Assists in the preparation of annual and quarterly financial reports
  • Preparation of regular reports on expenditure and budget control
  • Preparation of detailed cost estimates and assists in the reconciliation, budget analysis and projections
  • Assists in the smooth day-to-day administration of the project funds
  • Data capturing, accounts analysis, bank and fund reconciliation
  • Production of Trial Balance
  • Preparation of audit schedules
  • Assists in organizing the logistics for Project Steering Committee meetings and regional workshops

Qualifications

The Assistant Accountant should possess the following qualification and experience.

Professional qualification e.g. AAT and or first degree in accountancy, studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA,CIMA will be an added advantage.

Experience

At least 3 years demonstrable experience working experience with donor funded projects will be an added advantage.

Duration of the Contract

22 months

Remuneration

An Attractive package will be offered on the basis of qualifications and experience.
