Communication Officer-1 Post
Currently ABG has an opening for communication officer at Officer at North Mara site. Below are the key responsibilities for the position and qualifications.
POSITION OVERVIEW
To ensure a consistent, accurate and effective communication flow about the min both internally and externally. And to help local stakeholder communicate more effectively with the mine.
Reporting line: Community Relations Superintendent
Work schedule: Rotation status (56 days’on/28 days of)
KEY RESULT AREAS /ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Improve internal and external awareness and understanding off the full spectrum of NMGM’s activities. In other words, to improve transparency about the nature and impact of mining at North Mara. Develop consistent and coordinated communication activities. Events management.
Media Relation. Ensure effective internal communications Convey information among all stakeholders internal and external about community projects.
Support proactively in the preparation of a stakeholder engagement mapping
Develop communications materials for the mine
Support in the production and distribution of the North Mara newsletter
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
A Professional qualification in Communication studies or similar disciplines
A journalism background may be suitable, but the successful candidate will have broader qualifications.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
3-5 years experience in large organizations, preferably associated with the mining industry.
Experience working with Government and civil society stakeholders desired
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Very strong information Technology skills
Fluency in English and Swahili is essential. Culturally sensitive
Diplomatic Excellent listener Inquisitive
A good planner –methodical Results oriented
The position will attract a competitive salary package, which include excellent benefits.
