Project Description:

The overall objective of this project is .to provide the ECCAS with general support for implementing and managging the support project for peace and security financed by the 10th EDF, and for ECCAS capacity building.

The technical assistance team will comprise four main experts in the following fields:

1. Conflict prevention, management and resolution, and management of cooperation projects
2. Accounting and financial management
3. Information management systems
4. Training and training engeneering

Job Description:

The team leader will manage the project and provide ECCAS with support in the areas of conflict prevention, conclict management, and conflict resolution.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree or higher in social sciences, with a focus on international relations, political science, peace and conflict, development studies, or related field
• At least 10 years of working experince in international cooperation
• Experience in managing cooperation projects including senior positions, preferably in Africa
• Experience with EDF programmes and procedures
• Extensive knowledge in the area of conflict prevention, conflict management and conflict resolution
• Expertise on the African Peace and Security Architecture
• Fluency in English and French; knowledge of Portuguese will be an asset
