Knowledge Management Assistant (KMA

Reporting to the Knowledge Management Coordinator (KMC) the Knowledge Management Assistant (KMA) will assist in the establishment of a dynamic knowledge network through strengthening and building on the experience of Knowledge Management Partnerships (KMP).

This network is consistent with the IFAD’s objective to enhance its role as a knowledge organisation and use knowledge to improve development. The vision is to create a unified sub-Saharan Africa knowledge network to enhance rural development effectiveness, efficiency and impact.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that both the IFADAFRICA and KMP websites are updated regularly.
  • Ensure production of four Issues of the rural finance newsletter.
  • Assist in the organization and be part of the IFADAFRICA and KMP workshops.
  • Assist in the development of the IFADAFRICA and KMP annual report.
  • Ensure smooth running and proper administration of IFADAFRICA/ KMP office.
  • Develop an IFADAFRICA/KMP image database.
  • Ensure English-French translations are done for IFAD supported French speaking programmes

Required skills and qualifications

  • Relevant University degree with a strong background in information Technology and rural finance.
  • Superior verbal & written communication skills, highly self-motivated and driven thus can achieve results independently and with teams.
  • Experience in web analysis and development and be able to give technical support to the projects to develop their websites.
  • Experience in planning and organizing workshops.
  • Basic knowledge of French will be an added advantage.

Work environment

The KMA will be based in the IFADAFRICA offices located at Shelter Afrique house along Mamlaka road.
