Summary:

Our client is a leading player in the financial services sector across East and Sub-Saharan Africa and is in the process of establishing a Private Equity Fund that will be managed out of two offices in both Kenya and South Africa. Our client is looking for an ambitious, motivated and determined professional with entrepreneurial drive to take the operation forward, ideally of East African decent with established reputation and business record in the region. The fund will focus its investment activities on established industries in the SME space. Our client is looking for an experienced manager who can be influential in the marketing of the fund to the international investor community.
Description:

· Managing the general business activities of the fund in Kenya;

· Assisting in the marketing and investor relations of the fund;

· Identifying opportunities and deal flow for investment in the region;

· Managing the local regulatory and operational structure for the fund;

· Upholding corporate governance, compliance and Code of Ethics standards.
Requirements:

· An established and broad network of business and professional contacts in Eastern and Sub-Saharan Africa;

· An established network in the regional and international investment community, which will assist in fund raising activities;

· Mobility and willingness to travel extensively;

· A minimum of 10 years business work experience, ideally with an exposure to finance, banking, accounting or law ,and exposure to Private Equity will be highly regarded;

· Extensive deal origination and execution experience;

· A clear understanding of the tax and legal frameworks within the region;

· Extremely financially literate; and

· Relevant tertiary education and professional qualifications, including but not limited to CA, LLB or Engineering background.
