Nutrition Project Manager

Medair Somalia / Somaliland is seeking for a qualified candidate to fill in the following position based in Burao, Somaliland.

Nutrition Project Manager

Main responsibilities include:
  • Planning and implementation of the nutrition programme in accordance with Medair policy, Somali and international guidelines.
  • Managing, supervising and building capacity of nutrition staff. This includes job descriptions, recruitment, staff appraisals, staff development planning and training.
  • Timely management of food, drugs and equipment for nutrition projects
  • Accurate and timely submission of internal and external proposals and reports
  • Management of the nutrition budget in accordance with Medair and donor requirements
  • Effective integration and mainstreaming of gender into the project
  • Representing Medair in Nutrition forums and liaising with NGOs, the UN, and Government on nutrition issues.
  • Major programming decisions to be made in coordination with the DCD and/or Medical Advisor.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Experience in training/mentoring staff.
  • Diploma or Degree in Nutrition, a relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage
  • 2 years working as a nutrition manager in a humanitarian setting
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills; intercultural sensitivity.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to express views clearly
  • Creative, open minded, flexible, honest, problem solver, dynamic.
