PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT (AEM)
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Closing date : 11 March 2011)
A PhD. in Agricultural Economics or related discipline, with experience in teaching and research at University level.
DUTIES:
1. To teach both undergraduate and Post Graduate students courses in Production Economics, Agricultural Finance Management, Econometrics, Farm Management, and Agribusiness Management.
2. Supervise undergraduate research projects and post graduate theses.
3. Participate in Departmental, Faculty and /or University- wide research and Outreach activities/ community service.
4. Provide professorial guidance to the department.

LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES
QUALIFICATIONS: (Closing Date: 11 March 2011)
Master’s Degree or Ph.D. Degree in Environmental Health or Occupational Health and BSc. Environmental Health Sciences, specializing in Occupational Health and Safety.
DUTIES:
1. Teach Occupational Health and Safety courses including Acoustics and Health and Air Sampling Analyses to undergraduate students and may provide professional guidance to the department.
2. Conduct research/ and carry out community service.
3. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

RELEVANT INFORMATION
Must have first Degree in Environmental Health Sciences.

SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS AND FACULTY OF SCIENCE (Closing Date: 25 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:

A PhD in Physics preferably with a theoretical and Mathematical Physics background
DUTIES:
1. To teach physics to undergraduate level.

2. To do research in the relevant field/ and Community Service.
3. To perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT AND FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE (Closing Date: 25 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:

A MSc. in Agricultural Economics of related discipline, though a PhD would be preferred.

DUTIES:
1. To teach students courses in Project Planning and management, Natural Resource Economics, International Trade, Agricultural and rural Development, and Principles of Economics, farm management.

2. Supervise undergraduate research projects and postgraduates theses.

3. Participate in Departmental, Faculty and/ University wide research and outreach activities/ community service.
4. To perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CURRICULUM AND TEACHING (Closing Date: 11 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. in Curriculum Theory and Development. Must also have taught at University level and must have researched extensively
DUTIES:
1. Teach Curriculum Theory to undergraduate and Post Graduate students.
2. Supervise Research Projects.

SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CURRICULUM AND TEACHING (Closing Date: 11 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:

M.ED in Educational Technology although A PhD will be preferable. . Must have taught at University or Teacher Training Collage.
DUTIES:
1. Teach educational Technology.

2. Supervise Students Projects.
To perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL SCIENCE (Closing Date: 25 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least a Master’s
Degree in Dairy Science, but a Ph. D is preferred.
DUTIES:
1. To teach Dairy Production courses to undergraduate and/ or graduate student.
2. To develop and maintain links with the dairy industry
3. To carry out research.
4. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
RELEVANT INFORMATION
Candidates must have teaching experience at University level.

PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ SENIOR LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE (Closing Date: 25 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. in Linguistics, English Language, Applied Linguistics/ Language Studies with experience in teaching and research at University level.
DUTIES:
1. To teach undergraduate student courses in English Language (Phonetics and Phonology, Morphology and Syntax, Semantics and Pragmatics, Psycholinguistics, Composition Writing and Stylistics, Advanced Topics in Linguistics etc.).
2. Supervise undergraduate research projects.
3. Participate in Departmental/ Faculty and/ or University wide research and outreach activities/ community service.
4. Provide professional guidance to the Department.
5. Develop courses to be taught in the language section.
6. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY EDUCATION (Closing Date: 25 March 2011)
QUALIFICATIONS:

ME.D. in Practical Arts or Industrial Arts. A Ph.D. Degree will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
1. To teach Practical Arts.
2. To teach Industrial Arts.
3. To do research in the relevant field and Community Service.
4. To perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

LOCAL CANDIDATES
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing Allowance and a Medical Aid.

EXPATRIATE CANDIDATES
A two-year contract which will attract Gratuity, recruitment Allowance a Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
