Human Resources Coordinator Transparency International (TI)

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

Main function: Part of a small team providing human resources support to TI Secretariat (TI-S) with around 140 international staff and interns. Main working language in TI-S is English; in HR Department: English and German.

Contract: limited for 2 years with the possibility of extension

Location: Berlin, Germany

Starting date: September 2011 (negotiable)

Key responsibilities:

We are looking for an HR generalist / all-rounder, who will be able to support the HR Team in the following work areas. The individual tasks will be defined according to the experiences.

  • Coordination of payroll with external provider;
  • Administration of various employer’s insurances and employee data;
  • Employee support in the areas of social and health insurance, maternity and parental leave; child and parental benefits;
  • Recruitment of employees and interns;
  • Planning and Coordination of internal and external training
  • Employee services and counselling;
  • HR reporting (Analysis of HR reports and statistics)
  • Support HR-related projects (Reviews, Surveys, Job Grading, HR Policies)
  • Coordinate Employee Induction Programs;
  • Various HR-related administrative tasks.

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Several years of experience within an HR department and related tasks
  • Experience with international organisations and multi-cultural work environments would be an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of the German Labour Law, social security, and payroll would be appreciated
  • Very good verbal and written English and German;
  • Good organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • People- and service-oriented;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with colleagues and external partners;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to handle multiple tasks across a wide range of issues and work under pressure.
