TEP specialises in the systematic evaluation, monitoring and impact assessment of public policies, programmes, regulations and other interventions across a wide range of policy areas. We have a long track record of delivering high quality research, advice and analysis to the European Commission and other public sector clients in Europe and the UK.
Our evaluation work for EU clients focuses on interventions in a wide range of policy areas including enterprise and industry, employment and social affairs, education and culture, health and consumer affairs, and research and technological development. In recent years, we have also begun to be active in the field of international development.
The position
TEP is seeking to recruit a Consultant or Junior Consultant to further develop our capacity in the EU market. The main responsibilities will depend to some extent on the candidate’s level of experience, but will include:
- Delivering evaluation and impact assessment work, gathering and analysing evidence, and writing high-quality reports for our clients (in particular the EU institutions).
- Managing (parts of) evaluation and impact assessment projects, co-ordinating the work of TEP consultants and external experts, and establishing good working relations with clients.
- Helping to grow TEP’s business by contributing to the preparation of tenders, and identifying and pursuing opportunities in new and existing markets.
- Contributing to strengthening TEP’s capacity to deliver evaluation services in different sectors and using innovative methods and approaches.
The person
The successful candidate will need to posses relevant experience, and demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand, structure and solve complex problems;
- A good understanding (preferably based on previous experience) of the main approaches, methods and tools used to evaluate public sector interventions;
- Experience with applying different quantitative and qualitative research techniques;
- A keen interest in public policy, and the European Union and its institutions in particular;
- An entrepreneurial attitude and a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a project team;
- An excellent command of the English language. Additional European languages would be an advantage.
Depending on their skills and previous experience, successful candidates will be offered a role as either a Consultant or a Junior Consultant in TEP’s EU team. Both roles provide the opportunity to further develop both your evaluation and project management skills within a team of like-minded professionals. The selected individual will play a key role in the delivery of challenging evaluation assignments across the European Commission as well as for other high profile clients. The position being offered is a full-time permanent post based in TEP’s offices in Central London and the role will involve regular international travel.
